Xbox is a console video game system created by Microsoft. Xbox is like the nerdiest game system in my opinion. However, the Xbox is a solid investment because it is not only a great game console but it is also a full featured DVD player. The Xbox is based on commodity PC hardware and runs a stripped-down version of the Windows 2000 kernel using APIs based largely on DirectX 8.

Xbox was the first console to incorporate a hard disk drive, used primarily for storing game saves compressed in ZIP archives and content downloaded from Xbox Live. Xbox 360 can accommodate up to four wireless controllers and has three USB 2. Xbox mods are not endorsed or supported by Microsoft—in fact, they void your warranty—so you do risk bricking your box and winding up the creek without a paddle. The Xbox wields a built-in hard disk, fast processor, and an Ethernet broadband connection to enable networked gaming.

The Xbox is, in effect, the Internet Explorer of game consoles.The PS3 is clearly lacking in comparison, as the Xbox is more flexible with memory allocation, higher memory bandwidth, these are all facts. At least the games are cheaper than PS3 games, so in the long run XBox is more affordable.
